Andertons Repairs & Servicing Dept Here at Andertons we understand how important it is to make sure that faulty equipment is dealt with quickly & efficiently. As well as having a team of experienced engineers ready to get to work on your equipment, we also employ Allan, who's main job is to make sure that all the repairs we handle get to the right engineer, at the right time, and most importantly, back to you as fast as possible. Each time you book an item in for repair you will get a unique job number. You can phone through to Allan at any time Mon-Fri & he'll be able to update you on your repair progress - he'll also phone you as soon as your repair is ready to collect. You can rest assured he's chasing engineers along every day so that repairs are completed as fast as possible. If the fault on your equipment is covered by an Andertons warranty then all the services below are offered for free. If the fault/equipment is not covered by Andertons then the appropriate charges are shown below. If you are unsure about the warranty cover on your equipment please ask any of the sales team or call Allan on 01483 456777.  GuitarsWe have our own in house guitar technician - meet Gavin! Gavin has been with us for over 15 years and will happily carry out any kind of set up or servicing on your guitar. He is experienced in working with all the major brands of guitars, basses & acoustics, and has serviced 1000's of guitars during his time at Andertons. We do everything in our own on-site workshop, except for refinishing work which is done in an off site paint shop. Because Gavin is based in store (he's here 3 days a week) you can often speak to him in person to discuss exactly what you want done to your guitar. Guitar repairs are charged out at £40 per hour plus parts. A typical set up will take 1 to 1.30 hours & cost between £40-60 plus the strings and any other parts used. If the set up requires work on a Floyd Rose style trem, or excessive fret dressing then this can take up to 2 hours. Gavin will always phone you & let you know if a job will take longer than 1 hour. Our turn around time on most guitar repairs is 3-5 working days, and you can drop your guitar in to us any day of the week. Gavin says "To keep your guitar in the best possible playing condition you should have it set up professionally at least once a year. Changes in temperature & humidity can cause the neck of your guitar to move & this will will result in an uncomfortably high action or unwanted fret buzz. When I set your guitar up I make sure that the neck is perfect, the intonation is spot on & the electrics are all working fine - I even give it a clean!"    Amps & General Electronics We use an excellent, experienced local engineer for all our general electronic repairs. We mostly repair amplifiers, but we can take in any audio equipment with an electronic fault. Amp servicing is charged at £50 per hour & it's normal for most repairs to take 2 hours and cost around £80-100 plus parts. Re-valving an amp is a common job for us & typically you'll pay between £100-£150 to completely re-valve & re-bias an amp - this covers the cost of the valves & the labour. Any customer who's repair bill is going to cost more than £70 will get a quote before we proceed with any work. If you decide that you do not wish to go ahead with a repair then you will be charged a £40 quote refusal fee - this covers the time that the engineer has spent diagnosing the fault on your equipment. All electronic repairs are covered by a 3 month warranty against the fault occuring again. Our typical turn around time on amps & general electronic repairs is 7-10 working days (assuming parts are readily available). You can drop your faulty equipment in to us any day of the week. Hi Tec Repairs At Andertons we can even repair hitec & recording equipment for all the major brands. We mostly use a company called Panic Music Services - they are approved by all the main manufacturers & have good stocks of parts & service information. Due to the variable nature of hi tec products, each job is quoted for individually & an approx turn around time will be given at the same time as the quote. Typically most Hi Tec repairs will cost between £100-£150 & will take around 2-3 weeks to turn around (please note, this is just a guide & we will give you more exact information once the engineer has had a look at the item). If you decide that you do not wish to go ahead with a repair then you will be charged a £75 quote refusal fee - this covers the time that the engineer has spent diagnosing the fault on your equipment. All Hi Tec repairs are covered by a 3 month warranty against the fault occuring again. You can drop your faulty equipment in to us any day of the week ALL PRICES ON THIS EMAIL INCLUDE VAT. DEPENDING ON THE ITEM BEING REPAIRED YOU MAY BE ASKED TO PAY A DEPOSIT AT THE TIME YOU BOOK THE ITEM IN. << Back |
